CULTUral heritage and REgional Development
The key outcome of the project will be the best practice guidelines on how to use the built heritage and cultural identity as an instrument of regional development, preserving the buildings' historic integrity whilst using a market led approach. Thematic templates on each of the key subjects will be completed by the project partners and used to inform the best practice guidelines. Partners will develop demonstration projects during the course of this Interreg IIIC operation, which aim to realise four objectives. They will show how the cultural heritage can be used in the redevelopment of a region; and how this can strengthen its identity. They will provide a framework for attracting funding, and a frame of reference for good practice. The CULTURED project will develop a knowledge base for European policy makers and planners, regional organisations and actors. It will stimulate knowledge development through networking, and increase opportunities for developing built heritage projects.
